ISLAMABAD: Spokesperson for the Foreign Office, Muazzam Ahmad Khan, on Thursday affirmed that Pakistan would continuously work with President Barack Obama’s administration to achieve common interests in the region.

In weekly press briefing, the spokesperson said that Pakistan and the US shared good relations, and Pakistan would continuously work with the re-elected administration of President Obama. “Both countries are trying their level best to achieve common interest in the region,” he added.

He admitted that the two countries had experienced some ups and downs in their relations. To a question, he said Pakistan and US considered that drone attacks were the major hurdle in smooth relations between the two countries, and talks were under way in this connection to reach a logical end to the issue.

Talking about attacks on Pakistan by Maulvi Fazlullah from Afghanistan, the spokesperson said that dossiers of evidences regarding Fazlullah had been dispatched to the Afghan government and to the US-led allied forces in Afghanistan.

He added that Pakistan had received replies in this regard and was in touch with the parties concerned.Replying to a question, he said that an invitation had been sent to the Indian prime minister, and whenever he wanted to come, he would always be welcomed.
