He was recently embroiled in controversy when he accompanied his father along with director Ram Gopal Verma to the Taj Hotel that witnessed a terrorist attack in November 2008.

De Taali
Riteish’s debut movie was Tujhe Meri Kasam (2003) with Southern stars Shriya Saran and Genelia D’Souza. The movie was a remake of Telugu blockbuster Nuvve Kavali and was widely publicized owing to his father’s political connections. It was an average hit at the box office.

The comedy Masti (2004) starred the likes of Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi. He continued to star in multi-starrer comedies like Kya Kool Hai Hum (2005) and Bluffmaster (2005) with Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra.

In 2006, Riteish’s movie releases included Malamaal Weekly and Apna Sapna Money Money. Heyy Babyy (2007), a story that moved around three bachelors taking care of a baby performed well at the box office. De Taali (2008) didn’t fare well.

He played the role of Aladin in the movie Aladin (2009). The comedy, Do Knot Disturb, saw him with the king of comedy, Govinda. It was an average success.
