ISLAMABAD – Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan, has announced launching of Imran Khan Flood Relief drive to provide immediate relief to flood affectees and ensure their complete rehabilitation.
Imran announced this while speaking to the media persons here at National Press Club. He emphasised that this drive of unprecedented proportions spanning domestic and international fund-raising would provide relief and ensure complete rehabilitation of the affectees.
He informed that with 2000 people dead and over 20 million displaced, Pakistan was facing the largest natural calamity faced by any nation in the modern history.
He said that it was unfortunate that lack of trust deficit in the Government for proper utilisation of funds was resulting in lacklustre monetary support for the Government, both from domestic and international sources.
Noting Pakistan Army as the only exception, he said that all other government apparatus had broken down resulting in utter chaos.
At the end of his press briefing, Imran Khan appealed to the nation, all political forces, national and international NGOs to come forward and join hands for the relief and rehabilitation of the affectees of recent flash flood. He further requested to deposit their donations and Zakat at any branch of Habib Bank in the account number 06027900-799703 and for telephonic talk, the toll free number will be 080000048.
He appealed to the public to contribute for this noble cause. He also requested to donate food, medicine and other critical supplies at IKFR designated collection points.
Further, he appealed to the youth to come forward and register themselves as volunteers with Imran Khan Flood Relief.
