Severomorsk, Polyarny, Gadzhiyevo… In what way do these seaports differ from the other, usual ones? In no way, except for only one thing – they are closed. It means nobody can easily enter them. One should either live there, or have close relatives living there or a really strong reason to get there for work. So feel the atmosphere of these unusual towns inside the post.

Severomorsk is a closed town located along Kola Bay, not far from Murmansk. It’s the main base of the Russian Northern Fleet and home of many surface ships. Its residents are mostly officers, their families and sailors – people who are involved in it in one way or another. No strangers at all. That’s why there is virtually no criminality and one feels absolutely relaxed walking along its streets at night. People are very friendly, most of them are intelligent and polite.

Severomorsk is a home port of legendary nuclear-powered cruiser “Peter the Great”. Unfortunately, it is out of the port now.

Actually, there are a very few ships in the port but look at them. They all are great.
