Would you like to visit the Moscow State Historical Museum on Red Square? To do this you don’t necessarily need to come to Moscow. Here is an excursion along the Russian history inside the post.
Right in the center of the “Neolithic age” hall (6000-3000 years BC) there is a huge boat, 7,5 m in length, found on the bank of the Don in 1954. This is one of the greatest monuments of this period. The boat is made from a single trunk of oak with the help of stone axes (their traces are well seen on its bottom). On the inner sides of the boat you can see some pair holes which served for seat fastening. Loops on the nose and stern sides of the boat served for its moving in shallow water and its transfer from one water to another.
Yelena Glinskaya (great princess of Moscow and Ivan IV the Terrible’s mother) created a single coinage system for the whole Russian State in 1535-1538.
