A Hard Drive is a mechanical hardware device that is fitted inside a PC or any other digital devices. This device holds a large number of data which the user can retrieve from it anytime when the principal device is on. However, the hard drive is vulnerable to corruption and failure and the best way to prevent it is to watch out for signs of degradation and take an effective backup for all the files stored in it.

You can forecast a hard drive failure if you notice the following signs:

1. Producing Grinding and Clicking noise - If you PC is suddenly making unusual sounds then it is time to take notice as it is a clear indication of future hard drive crash.

2. Freezing Issue - If your PC freezes occasionally then there is no cause for worry, but if it happens frequently then there is a huge chance of hard drive failure.

3. Files automatically goes missing - If files from your computer suddenly goes missing without you deliberately deleting them, then it is a early sign of hard drive failure and it will keep on accelerating as time passes by.

4. Taking longer to access files - If you try to open a file, folder or any program in your computer and it takes a huge amount of time to open then you can be fully sure that something is wrong and the hard drive is compromised.

5. Hard drive not recognized by BIOS - If you get an error saying your system BIOS can't access the hard drive then you can be sure about your hard disk failure.

6. Computer automatically gets rebooted - If your computer automatically reboots itself without any apparent reason, it is a strong sign of impending hard disk failure.

7. Blue Screen of Death - This is the most prominent sign that points out towards the health of your hard drive and a strong indication that your hard drive is going to crash.

If you are experiencing such issues now or your hard drive has already crashed there is no need to panic.
