A Turkish NGO M/s Lighthouse Association has signed MoUs with ERRA and Hazara University for construction of academic blocks in the University at a total cost of US$ 10.000 million. The project is being implemented under the supervision of ERRA in consultation of Hazara University. A total of 10 academic blocks of 3-storeys each will be constructed under the project. Each floor shall have a covered area of 14400 Sft, which is enough to house on academic department. Hazara University plans to house 3 faculties i.e. Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences and Faculty of Law in the new buildings. M/s Yucel Turk Construction Company has been hired as contractor for the project. The architectural and structural designing has been completed and site office/camp ahs established. Hazara University has demarcated land for the project. The designing of the building have been done to withstand earthquake of upto 9.00 Richter Scale. Construction work has been started after receiving clearance from ERRA regarding the structural designs. The first 6-7 block will be handed over to Hazara University by October, 2008.
