Establishment of Jinnah Genome City
The advancement in medical knowledge have revealed that study of genetics is necessary to identify the root cause of medical problems for early rectification.

The era of gene therapy is soon going to replace most of the drug treatments. Although lots of research in genetics, related to diseases is underway in the develop countries but Pakistan lags behind in this regard. The social differences are reflected in genetic impressions of various diseases hence we need to do research in molecular biology in our country.

caused devastation of a large part of Northern areas of Pakistan. The University took certain steps besides opening an account for the relief fund and donating one day salary of the DUHS. We established relief camps at the three sister institutes of DUHS. Four teams comprising of about fifty medical personals including theatre technicians and anaesthetis were sent along with loads of medicines and related equipments to establish field hospital at Batagram, nauseri, Bagh and Neelam Valley. Our efforts were coordinated by Dr. Donia Aziz MNA, and other army people in Islamabad.
