Karachi, Mar 06: The University of Karachi has announced that the registration forms for BA, BCom, BOL and BSc improvement of division may be submitted by the interested candidates from March 11 to 31.
The KU registrar announced on Wednesday that change of subject would also be allowed and the prescribed fee of Rs500 should be deposited with the application form till March 31.
KU to hold special supple exams
Karachi: The University of Karachi will conduct supplementary examinations for outgoing students of BA and BSc (Hon) and subsidiary first and second year (both semesters) 2008 from March 16.
An announcement to this effect was made on Thursday by the deans of Arts and Science faculties.
"The examinations are not a regular feature because they are being conducted after a long gap," said a senior faculty member, who explained that the examinations were being conducted for the students who had failed in some papers and were unable to obtain a degree.
Course for madressah teachers
The University of Karachi organised a six-week training course for madressah teachers, according to Prof Abdul Rashid, former Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies.
He said that 29 teachers representing some 16 prominent madressahs of the metropolis attended the training session of the course titled Certificate of Studies in Social Science. The participants came from every school of thought, he added.
KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui will preside over the certificate distribution ceremony to be held on March 5.
Prof Mohammad Shamsuddin, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts who is also the coordinator of the course, will present the vote of thanks.
