The film industry in Lahore started in 1929 with the opening of the United Players Studios on Ravi Road. The first movie of Pakistani film industry Teri yaad was released in 1948. Pakistani film industry is recognized for producing many remarkable and renowned actors, directors, producers, writers and playback singers. 1956-66 was the golden era for Pakistani film Industry.

The film is a stylized depiction of events surrounding the war on terror in Pakistan, including the attack on a Police Academy at Lahore in 2009.

Major Mujtaba and Imran Ahmed Turk are former Pakistan Army officers, who took an early retirement from the service. The plot involves a counter-terrorism operation being conducted in the Northwestern tribal region of Pakistan, led by Ehtesham (played by Hamza Ali Abbasi) and coordinated by an intelligence officer played by Ayesha. Ehtesham and the intelligence officer come to know of a major terrorist attack that can only be countered with the help of Major Mujtaba.


Major Mujtaba's family is assassinated by Rammel and he wants to get revenge from Rammle. He knows Rammel from his actions and methods so he can counter his attack. Mulla siraaj in the tribal area helps the Rammle and he gives him two bombs which Rammle is going to plant somewhere in Pakistan. They first conduct an attack on police training center in order to divert the attention of the security agencies who are watching any suspicious activity because they are reported that a big terrorist activity is imminent. Out of two bombs, one bomb successfully explodes in fort area and kills Ehtesham. Second bomb is planted in Convention Center Islamabad but Major Mujtaba counters this attack and saves the country from another deadly terror incidence. He takes his revenge and kills Rammel. His powerful words are "Good wins over evil in the end" and this happens.

Production

Hassan Waqas Rana they considered dubbing the movie in Urdu but dropped the idea as it compromised the lead role played by Shaan Shahid. It is reported to include four hundred visual effects. The film that took three years to complete is Bilal Lashari's debut as a director, who earlier has directed music videos and assisted Shoaib Mansoor in Khuda Kay Liye

The film's music that took almost two years to get completed is composed by Amir Munawar while Qayaas and Umair Jaswal have contributed a song each.
