WASHINGTON: The aide for US President Barack Obama, John Brennan said that drone attacks had legal status under international law.

Brennan adds the US was in a state of war with Al-Qaeda, Taliban and their allies and had been asked by Obama to issue a clarification regarding drone attacks.

Earlier on Monday, the Foreign Office of Pakistan had summoned the political counselor of the US Embassy to lodge a protest against Sunday’s drone attack in North Waziristan.
