ISLAMABAD: Federal finance ministry has said that over Rs1.167 trillion worth of currency notes were printed during the four years of the present government, Geo News reported.
The finance ministry in a written reply to the national assembly today said that over Rs1.167 trillion worth of currency notes were printed during the last four years, of which, the maximum amount of more than Rs650 billion were of Rs1000 notes, while of Rs7 billion of Rs5, Rs27 billion of Rs10 and Rs14 billion of Rs20, Rs30 billion of Rs50, Rs92 billion worth of Rs100 notes.
The reply further said that Rs216 billion worth of Rs500 notes, Rs676 billion of Rs1000 notes, while the highest amount currency note of Rs5,000 were printed worth of Rs102 billion.
