Scientists have discovered how to use the process of pyrolisis to decompose and reuse the components of pneumatic tires.
Pyrolisis is a sophisticated method of heating in the absence of oxygen. Using heat levels above 500°C, the organic material in the tire could be decomposed within 30 minutes.
The decomposed materials can be separated into liquids and gases, which could be reused as fuels or raw materials, and solids which remain unaltered.
