CHAMAN: Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) threatened to close Afghan Transit trade, if the 20-hour load shedding is not put to an end and the lone passenger train service is restored, Geo News reported Sunday.

The FPCCI Vice President Daru Khan Achakzai and other office-bearers said this at an emergency press conference.

Chaman is the second largest and significant trade border city, which is plagued by load shedding with span not less than ten hours. Now the life in the city has been paralyzed by over 20-hour load shedding.

The only passenger train in Chaman has been closed.

Quetta-Chaman International Highway is under construction for five years now where loss of precious lives is everyday occurrence.

The transporters are suffering loss worth millions of rupees thanks to un-constructed Highway; with the fact that citizens and traders contribute the most of revenues.

He threatened if federal and provincial governments did not stop to ill-treat Chaman, Afghan Transit trade would be shut down.
